Happy Monday, everyone! This blouse is one of those items that I thought I'd never really like, but fell in love with after trying it on. (The extra 30% off from its sale price wasn't a bad deal either!) Unlike a lot of fashion bloggers, I tend to shy away from mixing prints let alone wearing anything with prints, but these little anchors are just too cute and definitely appropriate for summer. The anchor buttons on the shoulders make the top extra sweet! (The first post on anchor(s) away here.)

Polka dots galore
I've never really been into polka dots, but they seem to be everywhere lately! I have to admit, they're kind of growing on me... I'm in love with all the items above, especially the sweater, converse, umbrella, and the jeans! (haha)

Old but exciting
Good Monday morning, you beautiful readers!! It's another beginning to a new week, and I have a good feeling about this week! :) Well, for this outfit, both the top and the skirt are super old, but I haven't paired them up together until yesterday. Turns out, they work pretty well together. I gotta thank this whole blogging world for all the fashion inpiration. These pieces are old, but worked out to be a pretty exciting outfit!

Five
Happy Friday, everyone! Again, I apologize for the lack of posts this last week. I haven't had a clever idea on a DIY or a recipe. I have to admit, I feel pressured to come up with something for a post and am looking through pinterest and other blogs like crazy for ideas, but I disappoint again... :( Maybe we'll be luckier next week!
For today's five, I'd thought I'd let you in on five facts about me. I've been blogging for about 5 months now, but I feel like I haven't really shared too much about myself in a personal level. So, here's a list for 'let's get to know Joyce better'.
1. I'm an only child, and I really hate it. I've always be envious of people with brothers and sisters, and that grows with age. People, please have more than one child if at all possible.
2. We have a maltese named Honey who used to be my baby before the real baby came. He used to sleep on my bed and had wardrobe changes a few times during the winter. Poor thing... now that bb is here, he doesn't get half as much attention as he did before. That's actually him above.
3. I am an interior designer at heart. One of my hobbies is to move furnitures around in our rooms. John's been surprised (more than a few times) to come home and find all the furnitures in different places. I don't know how I do it, but I've moved everything from huge bookshelves to tv stands by myself.
4. I'm pretty obsessive when it comes to organization. I have a saying that if it's not in a right angle, it's in a wrong angle. Everything in our house is where everything should be at all times (unless being used), and it really ticks me off when I can't find something because it was misplaced by the person that used it last. Sounds crazy..? I know... it might be a sickness...
5. I'm a Christian, and I try to live everyday asking myself if the way I lived the day glorified God. It's impossible to be the 'perfect Christian', and I know I'm not even close to being perfect in any way, but God still loves me, and I'm so happy for that.
So, hopefully, you guys and gals learned some things about me and love me even more! :) Have a fantabulous weekend, everyone!!!

A little patriotic
It's a little late to be patriotic (13 days to be exact), but in my defense, these pants are not red! (yes, that's my defense...) I consider these to be coral, and I couldn't think of a better pair of pants to wear this striped sweater with, so here it is! Happy July 17th, everyone! :)

gray on gray (again)
I guess you can say that when in doubt, my go-to color is gray. I think gray just makes a great base for any accessories you might want to add. Here, I'm wearing my thin sweater over my maxi dress. Super comfy and easy for a relaxing Saturday! Happy weekend, everyone! :)

Updated necklace
I've been looking for a simple chain necklace for awhile, but could not decide on any because none of them seemed really special to me. So, I decided to tweak a couple of things on a regular chain necklace to make it my own. The neon yellow and the black chain came together as a set (from forever21).
I basically folded the chains in half and attached the black ribbon on both sides. In order to cover the ties from the ribbon, I attached the little bows (also from forever 21) on both sides. Then I tied the ends of the ribbon into a bow and you're done!! Make sure the ribbon is long enough to slide the necklace onto your head. I think the bows and the ribbons make this chain necklace a little more special! :) I'm planning on wearing it with a simple tee or a summer dress! 09 July 2012
Silky shorts
A few things about this outfit... I am in love with this silk skirt-look-alike-shorts!! I've heard of this Madewell company, and have been receiving their catalogues in mail for months (somehow), but have never bought anything from them. I located their store recently, and totally scored on these shorts on sale! One of my favorite fashion bloggers, Annie (from the other side of gray), loves Jcrew and Madewell. Annie, are they the same company?? Because the next thing I was going to talk about was this bracelet I got from Jcrew. It was actually pretty pricey, but totally worth it because it's just a classic piece that won't go out of style. Lastly, this Old avy shirt... what's not to love? I obviously love it because you can see me wearing it here with cropped shorts, here with a skirt, and here with cropped trousers. This was one of the most comfortable outfit I've worn to church in a while!

Peek - a - shoulders (2)
Perhaps I'll end up with a funky looking tan, but I'm loving the cut-out shoulder look lately, (also featured here) especially on flowy blouses like this one. I think the cut-out detail makes the outfit a little bit more special, and with it, accessories are not really needed. This blouse is shipped from Hong Kong (chicwish), and I'm thinking I need to go to Hong Kong one of these days just for the shopping.
ps... excuse the vampire look... the lighting was a little off... :)

Weekend wear
Do you enjoy a fun weekend that keeps you so busy that you think you need another weekend to recuperate, or do you enjoy a relaxing weekend where you spend time reflecting the past week and getting ready for the upcoming week? I think I'm more of a home-body, and prefer the relaxing weekend, but this weekend was the opposite. We had a couple of birthday parties to attend, hosted a bbq get together, and had a few errands to run. And now, I'm pooped... good thing at least my outfit was relaxing~
and about the outfit... I am in love with this linen cardigan from jcrew. A total score considering it was originally around $60, but I got it for $24!!
