I was going to title this post 'bag #2' following Monday's post, but I thought I'd focus more on the baby bump you can see in these pictures.  I guess I'm pretty self-conscious about the way I look, and I keep catching myself telling people that I'm pregnant and that I'm not just getting fat for no reason.  I added the socks to the outfit because I'm also self-concious about my slowly swelling legs and because it is fall eventhough the weather would suggest otherwise.  (still 90+ here in tx...) 

 

ooo and I also lied on this post.  I guess I did buy this bracelet from Jcrew at its original price at $85, but now it's at $125!  Also, this ring was given by my hubby 4 years ago as a bday gift and was purchased around $400, but now it's $850!!  Yikes!  I'm all about the sale, but I guess smetimes, somethings are just too good to pass up, on sale or not!

Sorry to disappoint, but I don't mean bag as in a fabulous purse or even a sweet little clutch. I'm talking about this blue bag I'm wearing as a dress... Usually, I would turn away from such baggy loose dresses, but hey, I'm 17 weeks pregnant with a very slowly, yet unattractively forming 'baby bump'. Needless to say, this dress was super comfortable (feels just like wearing a big trash bag) and I guess that's what matters for now. ps... don't be alarmed by the gigantic corn dog. we were at a balloon festival here in texas, and everything really is bigger in texas, ya'll! ;)

Like most girls, I love shopping at jcrew.  Their items are so timeless and classy, but still aren't boring.  Their shoes are also great, but the prices are not.  I actually never purchased anything from jcrew that wasn't on sale because the prices of most of their items get slashed significantly a few weeks/months later.  I figure the best way to shop at jcrew is to look around the newly arrived section and keep what you want in mind... Wait a few weeks and check online... See if the item you wanted is on sale.  Chances are, it probably is.   That is how I scored big last night on the two pairs of shoes linked/pictured above.  It's so funny because a couple hours before I made the purchase, I was at the mall looking at these two pairs of shoes (not on sale) with my mom and was discussing how cute but expensive they were.  When I saw them online for fraction of the price and in my size (!!!!), I just had to get them.  With the extra 30% off, I basically got the Mona heels for free!  The lesson to be learned here: be patient and check online often!  Have fun shopping, girls and guys!

It finally feels like fall here in Texas!!  Yesterday, the weather was 75 and sunny!!  Today, there was rain, and the sky was not as pretty as it did yesterday, but I'll take it any day over the 100+ degree weather.  As I've shared here, I am currently preggo and about 16 weeks along.  If you look closely at my belly area, you can kind of see a baby bump forming.  Here are some updates on the pregnancy:

week: 16
weight gain: about 7 or 8
clothes: don't fit... hence the elastic waist on the skirt
gender: don't know... thinking a boy still
cravings: burgers... greasy ones...
activities: registered at lifetime fitness last Friday... went once and barely broke a sweat

Is it fall yet?  Here in Texas, the tempertures are still in the 90s, and we're all still wearing shorts and sleeveless instead of coats, boots, and scarves.  I can't just wait for this weather to get cooler (because who knows when it will), so I took it upon myself to bring fall to our home.  I used this simple recipe but substituted shortening with 1/2 cup vegetable oil and dumped in a little extra chocolate chips.  I hope you give this recipe a try because these cookies came out pretty delicious and fluffy. 

pa... When you try your hand at it here are some great stand mixers and baking sheets that can help your cookies turn out as great as mine.  Enjoy!!!

Shopping - maternity wear

Alright... so my belly is barely out (I'm at that very ugly stage where I look like I gained weight around the waist because of eating too much and lacking exercise without a cute baby bump), but I'm already thinking and shopping for maternity wear.  There are so many options out there.  Here are the three websites I took a tour of today:  asos (maternity), Isabella Oliver , and  Hatch

Aren't they all super cute?  The key is to not get 'fat' while pregnant... just let the belly grow... ha!  Your legs, arms, face, and everything else on your body other than your belly must stay in shape!  (please note that I'm being sarcastic, and that's virtually impossible to do unless you're one of those people I hate where you do stay thin everywhere else except for the belly!)  Anways, can't wait til fall!! 

Baby News

Good morning, my blogging friends! Today, I have some exciting baby news to share with you all (see pic below).  :)   This is why I haven't been blogging as much... (this is my excuse and I'm sticking to it)  It's been pretty hard trying to come up with DIYs/recipes because of the nauseation and exhaustion.  The outfits... well, those are now getting difficult to come up with because now at 15 weeks, my belly is popping out a little and not a lot of my clothes fit me anymore.  Still, I shall post as much as I can!  I also don't show pictures of bb on my blog, but I thought this was a special occasion where his sweet little smile can be revealed.  Have a happy Monday, everyone!!!

Hi everyone!  Happy Friday...!  I haven't blogged since last Friday... Sorry, if you missed me!  :)  Bb has been sick since Tuesday with a cold, and I've been wrestling with him for the last few days and nights.  I think I had about 10 hours of sleep the last three nights combined... so if this post makes no sense, it's probably because I'm delirious...  About the outfit... I've been reaching in the closet for relaxed blouses and jeans a lot lately.  I think I'm ready for fall... are you?  Seriously, I gotta get off the computer and pass out soon because it's going to be another sick day and night.  Have a happy weekend!!
